Why We Do What We Do
- In 2016, an estimated 1,685,210 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 595,690 people will die from the disease.
- Approximately 38.5 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer of any site at some point during their lifetime, based on 2012-2014 data.
- In 2014, there were an estimated 14,738,719 people living with cancer of any site in the United States.
- The number of people living beyond a cancer diagnosis reached nearly 14.5 million in 2014 and is expected to rise to almost 19 million by 2024.
- National expenditures for cancer care in the United States totaled nearly $125 billion in 2010 and could reach $156 billion in 2020.
- 2016, an estimated 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 61,000 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
- With a substantial number of people impacted by cancer every day and many men, women and children unaware that they are even affected, the Renacer Foundation was created to be a source of knowledge and proactive testing along with treatment options, guidance on what’s available, or just a helping hand during these extremely vulnerable times.
