About Us

Cancer Diagnosis & Support, Durham, NC

Renacer Foundation

Renacer (pronounced “Reh-nah-sehr”) – is dedicated to the emotional, educational, and financial support of men and women at all phases of the cancer continuum, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment – on to survivor-ship!

Our Story

The majority of people working at or with the Renacer Foundation have first-hand experience of how cancer can impact a person, a family, and even a community.
These volunteers have thus dedicated time, energy and resources to help others through similar situations if nothing more than to share their wisdom and help make their challenges, decisions and next steps a bit easier.
While we can’t commit to being perfect and having all the answers, we can promise to provide the knowledge, guidance, support, and resources we do have.

Meet The Team

These are just a few of the many volunteers who are dedicated to making cancer treatment and support an easier and less costly process.

Why We Do What We Do

  • In 2016, an estimated 1,685,210 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in the United States and 595,690 people will die from the disease.
  • Approximately 38.5 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer of any site at some point during their lifetime, based on 2012-2014 data.
  • In 2014, there were an estimated 14,738,719 people living with cancer of any site in the United States.
  • The number of people living beyond a cancer diagnosis reached nearly 14.5 million in 2014 and is expected to rise to almost 19 million by 2024.
  • National expenditures for cancer care in the United States totaled nearly $125 billion in 2010 and could reach $156 billion in 2020.
  • 2016, an estimated 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 61,000 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
  • With a substantial number of people impacted by cancer every day and many men, women and children unaware that they are even affected, the Renacer Foundation was created to be a source of knowledge and proactive testing along with treatment options, guidance on what’s available, or just a helping hand during these extremely vulnerable times.
